The sculpture is part of the ready-made collection by Alix de Bretagne, contemplating on the ephemeral. This one in particular looks at capturing the idea of a still beauty spinning in the viewers imagination ajar to the sounds of music produced by the roughly attached music box. The artist considers the journey of ready made art from purchase to home installation:

“I’ve thought a lot about the implications of buying art myself – I always want to add a piece of my soul to it. So by changing the proportions, paint colour and overall balance, the ready-made becomes imbued with my artistic essence. For me, it’s so boring to keep things as they are; art is like nature – it should always grow, bruise, it must be alive”.

Bronze and Acrylic on wooden base.
