One can only appreciate the vibrance and intensity of this divine colour in real life – the screen doesn’t do it justice. In this piece, de Bretagne creates a rough texture and coats it in Yves Klein’s ultramarine blue, one of de Bretagne’s favourite colours. The effect achieved mimics a turbulent ocean as seen from above.

Cardboard and paper mache on canvas, acrylic paint. Frame included in sale price.
